Zoo Johor #throwback

Terkenang masa housemanship di Johor dulu. Aku sempat pergi melawat Zoo Johor yang tak jauh pun dari HSA(Hospital Sultanah Aminah). Macam mana boleh terpikir nak ke sana? Aku sendiri pun dah tak ingat.

Tak banyak gambar pun untuk dikongsi. Semenjak mula kerja ni, ambil gambar pun dah xda nilai seni sangat.

Hahaha.

ZOO JOHOR
Established in 1928 by the late Johor King, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar, Zoo Johor is one of the oldest zoos in the country and also in Asia.
Originally called an “animal garden”, the medium-sized zoo was handed over to the state government to manage in the 1960s.

The Indian peacock has iridescent blue and green plumage. The peacock “tail,” known as a “train,” consists not of tail quill feathers, but highly elongated upper tail coverts. These feathers are marked with eyespots, best seen when a peacock fans his tail. Both sexes of all species have a crest atop the head. The Indian peahen has a mixture of dull grey, brown, and green in her plumage. The female also displays her plumage to ward off female competition or signal danger to her young. (wikipedia)

The yellow-crested cockatoo (Cacatua sulphurea) also known as the lesser sulphur-crested cockatoo, is a medium-sized (approximately 34 cm long) cockatoo with white plumage, bluish-white bare orbital skin, grey feet, a black bill, and a retractile yellow or orange crest. The sexes are similar. Lessor, the cockatoo used in the TV series Baretta, is thought to be a yellow-crested cockatoo but is actually a medium sulphur-crested cockatoo. (wikipedia)

The reticulated python (Python reticulatus)[1] is a species of python found in Southeast Asia. They are the world’s longest snakes and longest reptiles, and among the three heaviest snakes. Like all pythons, they are nonvenomous constrictors and normally not considered dangerous to humans. However, cases of people killed (and in at least one case eaten) by reticulated pythons have been documented. (wikipedia)

The common hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius), or hippo, is a large, mostly herbivorous mammal in sub-Saharan Africa, and one of only two extant species in the family Hippopotamidae, the other being the pygmy hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis or Hexaprotodon liberiensis). The name comes from the ancient Greek for “river horse” (ἱπποπόταμος). After the elephant and rhinoceros, the common hippopotamus is the third-largest type of land mammal and the heaviest extant artiodactyl. Despite their physical resemblance to pigs and other terrestrial even-toed ungulates, the closest living relatives of the Hippopotamidae are cetaceans (whalesdolphinsporpoises, etc.) from which they diverged about 55 million years ago. The common ancestor of whales and hippos split from other even-toed ungulates around 60 million years ago. The earliest known hippopotamus fossils, belonging to the genusKenyapotamus in Africa, date to around 16 million years ago. (wikipedia)
